This Penha Longa Ritz-Carlton Wedding in Portugal was truly breathtaking. Every detail was divine, from lush, colorful florals to dreamy sunset light. The smell of the mountains of Sintra was also an added wedding guest.

Catarina and Eduardo are such an incredible couple, and it’s been such a treasure getting to know them. They live in Switzerland and have family in Portugal, with friends and family all over the globe, so Portugal felt like the perfect fit.

Nestled in southern Portugal, Sintra was the most romantic and dreamy location for their wedding day.

They chose the luxury resort because it was so sentimental, as Catarina spent most summers there as a child. She described the smell of Sintra, and I couldn’t wait to experience the incredible allure of this heaven on earth. It being so close to Lisbon was also helpful since most of their guests would be flying in.

The Details

Catarina reached out to me after her engagement, saying she would only get married if I photographed her wedding. She truly felt that picking a photographer who matched her style was imperative and was the best way to preserve some of the couple’s most cherished memories.

I can’t tell you how much it means to have clients like her, and what an honor to have clients be so intentional with choosing their wedding day creative team.

She wanted their day to feel classic, timeless, and overflowing with flowers. They both wanted a small, fun wedding focused on their closest friends and family, the perfect recipe for any destination wedding.

Flowers were so important to Catarina, and it was such a joy seeing her dream of lush blooms come to life. She wanted to “go all out,” and Decorelle brought together the most stunning floral installations and designs throughout the design.

Overall, their entire day was truly magical.
